AAA Fuel Calculator -

Select a city (only major ones are listed) you're driving from along with the city that is nearest to your final destination. AAA will then ask you to choose the manufacturer, and year, and the model of the car you are driving. When done, the calculator will show the Mileage you will have traveled along with the cost for gasoline one way and round trip based on current gas prices.

Note: when you select a car and its year when new, the database will go back to the server and update itself for each of these selections. When it does that the main frame screen will go white. Please wait until the database updates your last choice and returns to the screen before moving on. When you have selected the model of your car (the last choice), the database will then calculate your trip. It's cool. Just be patient. - http://www.fuelcostcalculator.com/

Drum Corp International -

Modern junior drum and bugle corps (“drum corps” for short) are independent youth organizations made up of up to 135 14- to 22-year-olds who spend the summer rehearsing and performing an 11-minute show in which they play a variety of horns or percussion instruments, or spin flags, rifles, sabres, and other implements, all while marching around a football field.

The corp divisions are divided based on the number of members the corps marches. Division III corps are the smallest, with 30 to 70 members; Division II corps have 80 to 135 members, and Division I corps have up to 135 members. Corps with membership sizes between 70 and 80 have the choice as to whether to be Division II or III, and Div. II corps that wish to compete in Division I must go through a special process to move up. Ages tend to vary accordingly within divisions; the youngest Division III members often haven’t reached their 10th birthday, while few Division I corps will march a 14- or 15-year-old. DCI rules state that members must be 21 or younger on June 1 in order to be eligible to march; those that have passed this age limit are said to have “aged out.” - http://www.dci.org/

The Energy Information Administration (EIA), created by Congress in 1977, is a statistical agency of the U.S. Department of Energy. Their stated mission is to provide policy-independent data, forecasts, and analyses to promote sound policy making, efficient markets, and public understanding regarding energy and its interaction with the economy and the environment.

Since its beginning, EIA has been challenged by the duty to respect Congress' intent to prepare policy neutral reports while fulfilling its role as an integrated office within the Department of Energy. EIA has found that complete transparency in the approach, methodology, and results of each of its products has gained the trust of its clients in the Department, the Congress, and elsewhere in the public. It is now recognized by its customers that EIA neither formulates nor advocates any policy conclusions, even though it often supports the Department with analyses and statistics. To assure this message is explicit, all EIA products carry the following statement:

"This report was prepared by the Energy Information Administration, the independent statistical and analytical agency within the U.S. Department of Energy. The information contained herein should be attributed to the Energy Information Administration and should not be construed as advocating or reflecting any policy of the Department of Energy or of any other organization." - http://www.eia.doe.gov/

Global Student Experience -

While abroad, it is your responsibility to attend class, complete exams, and keep up with your studies, as receiving credit will be based upon the evaluation by your host institution instructor(s) at the end of the term. Also, it is imperative that you keep all syllabi, books, class notes, homework, exams, or any other acquired course materials. Though students will receive transfer credit approval prior to leaving, these documents will be extremely important in the event of any discrepancies in credit transfer upon return to your home university.

Global Student Experience (GSE) provides an excellent opportunity to earn credit toward your degree while living and studying in a foreign city. All GSE affiliated universities are fully accredited and credits received are transferable to domestic universities. GSE will help to guide students through all of the necessary steps that they will need to take with their home university to ensure that all credits are properly accepted and received by their home universities. GSE will arrange for their overseas host universities to send all transcripts and certificates to both the student and their home university (upon request).

Before you depart for your program, GSE advisors will provide you with guidance on what program location and courses will be the best match for your study abroad goals!  You will receive extensive pre-departure information on your destination and advice on what you'll need in the foreign city of your choice.

If you have questions about any aspect of course credit transfer, contact a GSE advisor toll free at (866) 756-2443 or by emailing info@GSEabroad.com

Arnold started the company with an initial family investment of $25,000 and grew QDS to one of the nation's largest cardiac-event monitoring companies within three years. He sold QDS to Matria Healthcare for $25 million in 1998. In 1997, Arnold started Endeavor Technologies, Inc. to explore enhanced applications for Internet and computer telephony services. Internet Archive -

The Internet Archive is working to prevent the Internet - a new medium with major historical significance - and other "born-digital" materials from disappearing into the past. Collaborating with institutions including the Library of Congress and the Smithsonian, we are working to preserve a record for generations to come.

The Internet Archive is opening its collections to researchers, historians, and scholars. The Archive has no vested interest in the discoveries of the users of its collections, nor is it a grant-making organization.

At present, the size of our Web collection is such that using it requires programming skills. However, we are hopeful about the development of tools and methods that will give the general public easy and meaningful access to our collective history. In addition to developing our own collections, we are working to promote the formation of other Internet libraries in the United States and elsewhere. - http://www.archive.org/index.php

Internet Movie Database -

Everything you need to know about movie trivia.

The Internet Movie Database (IMDb), and an Amazon owned company, is a HUGE collection of movie information where you can preview trailers, too, of up coming movies. The site catalogs every pertinent detail about a movie where possible, from who was in it, to who made it, to trivia about it, to filming locations, and even where you can find reviews and fan sites on the web. They then do their best to present this information in a manner that is easy to search and access. The IMDb started as a hobby project by an international group of movie fans, essentially something by movie fans for movie fans. And despite its incredible growth, it retains that sensibility. The weekly editorial staff meeting is lunch and a movie. All the weekly status reports detail three things: what we did for work, what we did for fun, and what movies we saw. Their staff is spread around the U.S. and Europe. - http://imdb.com/

IP Address Finder -

Every computer connected to the Internet is assigned a unique number known as an Internet Protocol (IP) address. IP addresses consist of four numbers separated by periods (also called a "dotted-quad") and look something like 127.0.0.1. Since these numbers are usually assigned to internet service providers within country-based blocks, an IP address can often be used to identify the country from which a computer is connecting to the Internet. Because the numbers may be tedious to deal with, an IP address may also be assigned to a Host name, which is sometimes easier to remember. Hostnames may be looked up to find IP addresses, and vice-versa. - http://whatismyipaddress.com/?gclid=CLnHkNad5p0CFdx05QodDXCLLg

I’m not trying to suggest that I am independently wealthy, or that I have taken a vow of poverty. It’s just I value my independence and the credibility it brings me with the people who trust me with their stories. But this work is both dangerous and incredibly expensive and without a steady level of income I could not continue to do it. Because so many misconceptions are out there about nonexistent “big money” deals, I thought it might make sense to clarify how I get the funds I need to do this job that increasingly, it seems, I am the only guy committed to doing.- http://michaelyon-online.com/

Microsoft Advanced Search Engine -

Sometimes searching Microsoft can be like entering the house of the 13 ghosts. Try this URL to Microsoft's Advanced Search engine. Below are search rules from Microsoft's help page. - http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/learn-to-narrow-your-search-criteria-for-better-searches-in-outlook-HA010238831.aspx

Boolean Operators for Microsoft Search Engine
The following are the symbols and words you can use to improve your queries on Microsoft.
Symbol Function Examples
" " Finds exact terms as quoted. "mobile device" "wireless device"
AND Finds pages that contain all terms or phrases. Windows AND Vista
& Same as AND. Windows & Vista
NOT Excludes pages that contain a term or phrase. mobile NOT wireless
- Same as NOT. mobile -wireless
( ) Group words in OR and NOT queries. (mobile device) | (wireless device)(mobile device) NOT (wireless device)
+ Denotes that all search results must include this term. Also allows inclusion of words that search engines usually ignore. mobile wireless +device Office +for Mac
OR Finds either term. (mobile device) OR (wireless device)
| Same as OR. mobile | wireless
Search Engine Rules
The following are the rules that the search engine follows when it processes your query.
  • All searches are AND searches. It looks for pages that contain every term entered in the query text box. For example, If you get too many results for windows, try searching for windows vista instead.
  • Quotes may achieve more precise results. It treats every term as separate words. If you are searching for a phrase, place quotes around the words. For example, if you get too many results for Windows Vista, try searching for "Windows Vista" instead.
  • Common words are ignored. It ignores all punctuation marks that are not used as Boolean operators (see above chart) and all common (noise) words that are unlikely to improve results. Noise words in English include: a, about, an, and, are, as, at, be, by, for, from, in, is, it, of, on, or, that, the, this, to, was, what, when, where, which, who, will, and with. You may include an omitted word in the query by adding a + symbol or by placing quotes around the word.
  • Queries have a 255-character maximum length limit.

NeighborhoodScout has calculated appreciation rates for each neighborhood in America as a percentage change in the median house value from 1990 to present (e.g., 84%). We also show how each neighborhood's appreciation rate compares to other neighborhoods in the nation, and within the same state (e.g., 9 relative to the nation, 5 relative to California (10 is highest). This makes comparisons of house appreciation rates equally easy for professional investors and individual home buyers. In this example, the neighborhood is one of the highest appreciating in the nation, but is only average in appreciation relative to other neighborhoods in the state of California. - http://www.neighborhoodscout.com/

    NetLingo -

With more than 79 million people texting regularly, it's no wonder you've seen this cryptic looking code! Commonly used wherever people get online -- including IM'ing, SMS'ing, cell phones, Blackberries, PDAs, Web sites, games, newsgroup postings, in chat rooms, on blogs -- these abbreviations are used by people to communicate with each other. The actual definition of an acronym and text shorthand is here.

Online enthusiasts, primarily millennials, are learning that shorthand are in fact called acronyms, but this is incorrect. The difference between acronyms and shorthand is that with acronyms, you pronounce the letters as a new word (for example, "FUBAR" is pronounced "foo-bar" and "RADAR" is pronounced "ray-dar"). In contrast, shorthand pronunciations are like an initialism (a set of initials) in which you say the letters one-by-one (for example, "ESP" is an initialism for "extra sensory perception" whereas "esp." is an abbreviation for especially). The online practice is to refer to shorthand, initialisms, or abbreviations as acronyms. - http://www.netlingo.com/emailsh.cfm

    Rule of Law Radio -

We at Rule of Law Radio are here to assure you things are not as bad as most would have you believe. Those trapped in the corrupt system for the most part realize something is terribly wrong but feel powerless to do anything to change it and they are mostly correct. It is unreasonable to expect the problem to repair itself. The solution to this particular problem lies outside the system.

The problem we reference is not rooted in some massive, overriding, international conspiratorial cartel. The problem originates at the lowest and most mundane levels of jurisprudence. Local authority is in such disarray it is unable to protect us from itself, much less some outside intruding corruption.

The solution is clear, simple, and we all know precisely what it is. We know but avoid the uncomfortable truth at great cost. With freedom comes responsibility. We are after all a Republic. We have known all along that the ultimate authority and the final check to the abuse of power lies firmly in our hands. - http://www.ruleoflawradio.com/

Since my dad was in the military and one of my best friends is currently serving his country, I had the opportunity to learn a lot about how fragile our world is and what goes on behind the wars and the mainstream media news that cover them (pun intended). Once I got into prepping, I realized I’ve already been doing this to some degree. Only problem was, I wasn’t doing it to get the best results possible. "The streamgage-based maps show streamflow conditions for real-time, average daily, and 7-day average streamflow. The real-time streamflow maps highlight flood and high flow conditions. The 7-day average streamflow maps highlight below-normal and drought conditions."

WaterWatch (http://waterwatch.usgs.gov) is a U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) World Wide Web site that displays maps, graphs, and tables describing real-time, recent, and past streamflow conditions for the United States. The real-time information generally is updated on an hourly basis. WaterWatch provides streamgage-based maps that show the location of more than 3,000 long-term (30 years or more) USGS streamgages; use colors to represent streamflow conditions compared to historical streamflow; feature a point-and-click interface allowing users to retrieve graphs of stream stage (water elevation) and flow; and highlight locations where extreme hydrologic events, such as floods and droughts, are occurring. - http://waterwatch.usgs.gov/

    Wikipedia's Free Encyclopedia -

No longer can be trusted. Can create history to protect an ideology instead of reporting on it as is. Call it facts to, "Hey just make it up, Charlie?" Great to promote Communism. Death to freedom. It's the death of "what, where, when, why and who," basic trusted newspaper reporting and killed by the New York Times that morphed to say "It's not news until we say it is." One of the Times 29-year old baby editoral members was reported to have called the Betsy Ross flag, the one with a circle on it. Better to turn the damn building into a condo than waste a nation on it.
