. . . or a candidate by the color of his skin.
We are still two and one-half months away from the nominating conventions and it seems as though the campaign has been going on for eternity. Unless something dramatic and unexpected happens, it appears that it will be McCain Vs Obama. In deciding which candidate is best to lead us into the next decade, I have tried to research the candidates accomplishments as best as I can.
In the case of Sen. Barack Obama, I cannot find one accomplishment or good idea that he has developed since his time in the Senate.
Barack Obama should not be judged by the color of his skin, but by his abilities and accomplishments - which, aside from his being charismatic, shows me nothing else.
However, his speeches and rhetoric make him seem like the savior of the world. He even has his supporters convinced. However, if you look at his record you will find he is an empty shell. I have never made my decision based on religion, gender or race, but it appears that most people are enamored with the fact that he is set to become the first black candidate to be nominated by a national party for the highest office in America.
Chris Matthews of MSNBC, who is usually soft as an interviewer, especially when it comes to interviewing Democrats, surprised me when he stomped on Senator Kirk Watson of Texas, during a recent interview. What he did was no brainteaser. All he did was ask the Senator to give him any example of Obama's legislative accomplishments.
Matthews seemed surprised when the Obama campaign's own surrogate was left totally stymied by the simple question.
When you research his record, and I encourage everyone to do so for themselves, do not rely on either Democratic or Republican slanted presentations or blogs, you will find, as I did, that he is what private industry would term "an empty suit" - not a single original, credible idea of his own.
You may say, "Well a leader has good people that help him with that." Mr. Obama falls short. There is only some downright scary rhetoric that taxpayers should be aware of. Barack Obama will be a led around by some of the scariest social engineers there are. As a voter, there is no "Wow" alternative, but the Democratic primary procedure clearly was blinded by charisma. It is relatively certain that the DNC nominating convention will follow suit.
Therefore, with that in mind, as the saying goes one picture is equal to a thousand words. As in the case with the following You Tube video, one short video is worth watching. So if you want to see a politician choke on national TV? Watch this. (Note: If playing, turn off music on homepage.) In Obama's own words he said, "My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world. I hope you'll join with me as we try to change it." Why would you want to?
And, that is my opinion.
