1. A school in Utah was recently fined $15,000 by the federal government "for the crime" of keeping soda machines plugged into an AC outlet. The school had been selling soda to students during lunch, using the money from the sale of soda to fund school programs. That act is now going to cost the school $15,000, it having to cut programs to pay the fed's fine. The fed's excuse for going after soda machines is that it's attempting to cut down on childhood obesity.*
However, candy bars with nuts in it were okay to eat. The school, therefore, was confused on the objective of what looks like a ridiculously failed program that wastes more taxpayer dollars on more paid government employees encouraged to look over the shoulder of others around the country.
“The rule is vague and open to interpretation. For example, the way the rule reads – you can buy before lunch starts a carbonated beverage, buy school lunch, sit down in the cafeteria, eat the school lunch and not be in violation,” Davis High Principal Dee Burton told KUTV in Salt Lake City.
It is OK to sell Gatorade and “Snickers and Milkyway bars because they have nuts and they’re nutritious. You can’t sell licorice, but you can sell ice-cream,” Burton said. - Read More

2. It is reported the Obama's Department of Justice, (DOJ of Fast and Furious Fame), "has ordered" the University of Arkansas at Ft. Smith (UAFS) to allow "a male student" to use women’s bathrooms on campus.
"Campus Reform reports that a male student who calls himself “Jennifer Braly,” and is in the process of raising money to pay for his sex-reassignment surgery, filed a complaint with the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice after the campus told him to use gender-neutral bathrooms rather than women’s restrooms." - Read More

* Note on first story: Schools should never take federal funds that put a golden collar and leash around their necks. And who exactly was checking to see if any soda machines were plugged in, shades of Nazi Germany where citizens reported on others to obey the rules of its fascist government.
Normally obesity is caused by inactivity, which allows eaten food not be used up in energy turned instead into fat. The NFL, for instance, to counter obesity is trying to get children to be physically active at least 60 minutes a day. Retired Americans would note obesity wasn't a problem when they were growing up in their America at a time when kids were forced to go out and play or join into sporting activities.
So the answer to obesity is to create programs where kids will become active again in sports and physically challenging activities. But hell, that would be too easy and logical for progressives that just hate individual success. As you know New York City's Columbia University's Teacher's College believes that self achievement is offensive to others and how this Marxist-like institution can easily destroy success, again run by bully liberal progressives.
As you can see the progressives that control government today don't believe in individual responsibility. Their answer instead is never let a good crises go to waste, using obesity to take away freedoms that allow the feds to gain more power against individual freedoms. In the 1950's, Americans would have told progressives living in Washington today, "Get your g**damn Marxist fingers out of our pie!" - Webmaster
