1. Seniors Screwed Who Want To Stay In Their Homes
Home Health Sector Under Obamacare Sees The Largest Job Loss In More Than A Decade!
"These cuts directly impact homebound seniors in rural and underserved communities who are among the Medicare program’s oldest, sickest, and poorest beneficiaries.
Because home healthcare providers care for Medicare’s most vulnerable patients, adequate Medicare funding is especially critical. In home health – unlike other healthcare sectors – private pay and Medicaid can’t be used to offset Medicare losses.
Therefore, net losses in nearly half the nation’s home health agencies will inevitably lead to closures across the country, compromising the care nearly 3.5 million vulnerable seniors depend on to remain in their homes." - HomeHealth4America
_____________________
"The December Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) jobs report projects that 3,700 home health jobs were lost in December, demonstrating the biggest loss in home health jobs in more than a decade.
Leaders in the home health community have warned these cuts are directly related to the unprecedented 14 percent cut to the Medicare home health benefit, which went into effect on January 1, 2014.
This new report confirms what senior advocates have been concerned about – this deep 14 percent cut will negatively impact millions of American seniors, their families and needed healthcare jobs.
As the unprecedented cut to Medicare home health starts to take effect, 40 percent of all home health agencies are projected to end up operating at a loss. These agencies may be forced to reduce staff, limit patient services, file bankruptcy or close their doors completely. Avalere Health projects that a total of 500,000 home healthcare jobs could be lost.
As a result, nearly 1.5 million seniors could lose access to the high-quality, cost-effective home health services they need, and taxpayer costs will therefore rise as medical services are instead delivered in more costly institutional settings.
Medicare home health services are delivered to approximately 3.5 million Medicare beneficiaries, who are documented as being poorer, older, sicker, and more likely from a minority population than other Medicare beneficiaries. These cuts should be stopped to protect access to care for our most vulnerable seniors." - HomeHealth4America
2. Byzantine-Era Church Uncovered In Israel
"A 1,500-year-old church complete with a sophisticated mosaic was uncovered by archaeologists in southern Israel." - FOXNews
"A 1,500-year-old church complete with a sophisticated mosaic was uncovered by archaeologists in southern Israel. The Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) say the Byzantine-era structure 'probably served as a center of Christian worship for neighboring communities.'
The discovery was made during a routine salvage excavation conducted by the IAA prior to the construction of a new neighborhood in the area. The building is approximately 72 feet long by 40 feet wide and consists of a central hall with two side aisles divided by marble pillars. An open courtyard at the front of the structure is paved with a white mosaic floor and a cistern. Directly off of the courtyard is a rectangular hall with another more intricate mosaic floor with colored geometric designs.
Including among the finds are five inscriptions, one of which mentions Mary and Jesus." . . . Read More
3. Hollywood Hypocrisy
"Hypocrisy has long been an effective weapon for the Left in its political fight against conservatives. The national liberal media has delighted in taking down a few notches conservative pundits such as Dr. Laura Schlessinger (who promoted traditional values on her radio show but posed nude for photos in her youth), Rush Limbaugh (who condemned drug addicts and traffickers on his radio show but became addicted to prescription painkillers and procured them illegally), and Bill Bennett (who wrote books promoting a wide range of virtues and criticized the moral failings of Bill Clinton but was himself a heavy gambler). All three of those individuals suffered personal embarrassment when those indiscretions came to light. They ended up taking responsibility for their actions, acknowledged their shortcomings, and were contrite." - TheNewAmerican
"Michael Moore: Very few people had ever heard of Michael Moore before the release of his first documentary film, Roger and Me, in 1989. The film records Moore’s sometimes comic quest to meet with General Motors Chairman Roger Smith and try to convince Smith to visit Flint, Michigan, and see how the layoffs of tens of thousands of GM workers was affecting the city. But for a brief confrontation with Smith in a crowded lobby, Moore failed to achieve his goal, although he did realize fame and fortune from the film itself.
Much of the reason for Moore’s success is the reputation that he has cultivated, namely, that he is the son of a working-class autoworker from the Rust Belt factory town of Flint. He dresses the part, sporting an unkempt wardrobe of baggy pants, scruffy shoes, and the ever-present baseball cap, along with a scraggly beard. In reality, Moore did not live in blue-collar Flint, which happened to be predominantly black, but rather, not far away in the white, middle-class town of Davison. His father was not exactly one of the struggling proletariat. In fact, Moore’s father could afford to put all four of his children through parochial school, play golf every day at a private club, and retire at the age of 53.
Moore continued to claim that Flint was his hometown long after he left the area following the success of Roger and Me. For example, following the 2003 Oscars, he reported in the Los Angeles Times that he was returning “home to Flint.” His Michigan home actually sits on 10 acres, with 281 feet of waterfront on Torch Lake, which National Geographic considers to be one of the three most beautiful lakes in the entire world. Moore also owns a penthouse in New York City, which he declared as his official residence for many years. However, following the success of his 2002 film, Bowling for Columbine, Moore switched his residence back to Michigan, which has a lower state tax rate, thereby reducing his state tax liability by hundreds of thousands of dollars.
In Bowling for Columbine, Moore claimed that Americans buy firearms because they are irrationally fearful and singled out conservatives as 'paranoid.' Ironically, when Moore travels the country to promote a book or film, he is often protected by armed guards because he believes that right-wing gun nuts are out to get him.". . . Read More
4. Appalling! Public Unions Demand Dues From the Disabled & Their Caregiver Family Members
"SEIU and AFSCME are demanding the right to seize money from disabled people. That’s not hyperbole." - GatewayPundit
"Thanks to the Illinois Policy Institute, meet Pam Harris. Her son Josh is 25 and lives at home because he suffers from permanent genetic abnormalities. Caring for her son is a full time job and the state helps her make ends meet.
Now, SEIU and AFSCME are demanding a share of Josh’s support! Sadly, the Democrat governor of the state has abetted in this theft by issuing an executive order allowing the unions to deduct dues from disabled people’s aid." . . . Read More

6. Eric Holder Says Soon Banks Can Loan Some Greens To Pot Retailers
"Attorney General Eric Holder announced on Friday that the U.S. Treasury and law enforcement agencies will soon outline regulations that will allow banks provide services to state-sanctioned cannabis businesses." - DailyCaller
"Although marijuana is legal for recreational use in Washington state and Colorado and is permitted for medical uses in 21 states and the District of Columbia, banks have been blocked from doing business with the industry because pot remains classified as an illegal narcotic under federal law.
The lack of financial services has forced newly licensed recreational pot retailers in Colorado and medical marijuana dispensaries in other states to operate as cash-only businesses, which has opened the door to a whole host of potential problems, including robbery and money laundering." . . . Progressive Film Festival Yanks Pro-Fracking Documentary; Instead Will Only Show Corrupted Film Critical Of Industry - WashingtonTimes
"Filmmaker Phelim McAleer, who produced the 'FrackNation' with Ann McIlhenney, said he wasn’t buying the festival organizers’ explanation. 'It’s a cover story,' said Mr. McAleer. 'They’re under pressure from environmental elites not to show this film.'
He noted that while 'FrackNation' was pulled, the festival is still showing 'Gasland2,' a follow-up to the intensely anti-fracking 2011 documentary 'Gasland,' and 'Dear Governor Cuomo,' a documentary about anti-fracking protests in New York.
Held at Winona State University, the festival lists among its public sponsors the Minnesota State Arts Board, which donated $22,000 to this year’s event. One of the festival’s private sponsors is Winona-based Severson Oil Co., a wholesaler and distributor of oil and gas products." . . . Read More

8. Unreliable German Solar And Wind Forcing New Coal Boom
"Not surprisingly, a wind farm operator is at the center of Germany’s latest major financial swindle." - PJMedia
"With 1,300 employees, Prokon is a relatively small company. Yet its advertisements were well-known to Germans. They always had three parts: pictures of a wind farm; a vague message that 'something' had to be 'changed'; and a request to make a loan to Prokon. In return, one was promised nothing less than 'a future worth living,' and 8 percent interest per annum.
One of these propositions must have been alluring to many Germans, for the company successfully gathered about 1.3 billion euros (2 billion dollars) in borrowed capital. That’s small money compared to Enron, Lehman Brothers, or Greece, but in the case of Prokon, no banks or equity funds were involved. All of the capital came from retail investors, some of whom gave a big chunk of their lifetime savings, according to media reports.
Now, we know that the whole operation was a Ponzi scheme. The interest was paid with the money from newcomers. Journalists are adding insult to injury, asking how Prokon´s creditors could have been so naïve with such an 'extraordinarily high' interest rate being promised. Some coverage has mentioned that many of the investors were allegedly 'elderly people.'" . . . Read More
9. Obama Betrays U.S. Military Superiority
"The takeover of Fallujah by Al Qaeda wipes out our costly 2004 victory when we captured Fallujah at the cost of 100 Marines and soldiers killed in action and hundreds more wounded. Fallujah isn’t just an Obama mistake; it’s the exemplar of Obama’s disastrous foreign and military policies designed to reduce the power and prestige of America on the world stage." - EagleForum
"Obama’s military policies are not merely based on his incompetence. His military policies are part of his personal ideology to redistribute power in the world, which is the other side of the coin of his Saul-Alinsky ideology to reduce our standard of living by drastically limiting our energy use to the level of poorer nations.
When Obama told Joe the plumber that Obama wanted to 'spread the wealth around,' that was only part of his plan. He also wants to spread power around to achieve his we-are-all-equal worldview.
Just as Obama thinks it is unfair that the United States enjoys a higher standard of living than the rest of the world (even though we earned it), he thinks it is unfair that America has more military power than other countries. When he talks about his goal of “fundamentally transforming” the United States, he means he wants to reduce both our economic and our military superiority.
Obama has failed miserably to negotiate Iran out of its steady progression toward becoming a nuclear nation. It’s been a year and a half since the Benghazi murders of our Ambassador and three other Americans, but nobody has paid a price and they remain unavenged." . . . Read More
10. Pentagon Concerned by China’s New High-Speed Missile
"Hypersonic strike vehicle test is high-tech arms breakthrough that will be difficult for missile defenses to counter." - FreeBeacon
"China’s recent test of a new ultra-high speed strike vehicle highlights growing concerns that Chinese military advances will overtake those of the United States in as few as five years, a senior Pentagon official told Congress Tuesday.
Frank Kendall, undersecretary of defense for acquisition, technology, and logistics, said during a House Armed Services Committee hearing that he is concerned by large-scale cuts in U.S. defense spending that are undermining efforts to maintain U.S. military superiority.
'On hypersonics, this is a good example of an area of technology that is going to move forward whether we invest in it or not,' Kendall told a hearing on the United States shift toward Asia. 'China is doing work in this area.'” . . . Read More
11. The Smearing Of Chris Stevens
"Last week the Wall Street Journal published Gregory Hicks’s column “Benghazi and the smearing of Chris Stevens.” - PowerLine
"It would be easy to overlook Hicks’s column in the crush of last week’s news, but it is deserving of special attention. In the column Hicks offers his eyewitness testimony to the security issues that Stevens dealt with at our Libyan facilities before his death.
The redacted report of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence Committee that was released on January 15 has left some to draw the conclusion that Stevens rejected additional security and to imply that he is responsible for the success of the attack leading to his own death. Hicks comments: 'This is untrue: The blame lies entirely with Washington.'
'Washington' is of course a euphemism for people with names of their own. Hicks does not name names beyond that of Undersecretary Patrick Kennedy, but he lends an invaluable perspective. Here is his conclusion:" . . . Read More
12. Intelligent Populism v. Mindless Progressivism
"With elections looming in 2014, it is about time for Barack Obama to gear up another progressive 'war' against the rich, the limb loppers, the fat cats, the tonsil pullers, the 'enemies' of Latinos, the jet junketers, the women haters, and those who knew neither when to stop profiting nor how the government had really built their businesses. We shall shortly witness some of the wealthiest and most privileged of capitalist America decrying inequality and unfairness from the 18th hole in Hawaii, the Malibu gated estate, and the Beacon Hill mansion. And the faux populism will probably work, at least if 2008 and 2012 are any indications." - NewMediaJournal
"It is easy to chart the evolution of the wealthy progressive elite from the occasional limousine liberal of the 1950s and 1960s to the now dominant hierarchy of the Democrat Party.
The traditional Democrat boilerplate that I grew up with (as much as a ten year old can notice much of anything in 1963) -- minimum wage, 40-hour work week, overtime pay, disability insurance, fair housing, civil rights, assistance for the needy -- was mostly achieved by 1970. Equality of opportunity, however, did not translate into equality of result -- given differences and imperfections in human nature.
Six instead of two children, three packs of cigarettes a day, four beers after work, two DUIs, a messy divorce, a freak accident on the job -- the possibilities of either unsustainable responsibility or mishap are endless -- can send one from middle class into poverty, well beyond the powers of the most enlightened government to prevent it. What is the liberal to do in those cases to ensure that we end up the same?
Moreover by 1995, the huge expansion of the US economy, globalization, and sweeping breakthroughs in technology radically transformed the prior idea of "poverty," as I had remembered it in 1960 (we of the rural middle class a half-century ago all used the privy farm toilet when outdoors around the house, and shared a party phone line with eight other families). Today's poor struggle with drugs, crime, shattered families, and malaise, but not outdoor privies, the lack of air conditioning and heating, dusty dirt roads, or a denial of access to a phone or TV. Deprivation now is almost defined as the absence of a free electronic tablet at school." . . . Read More

Disney Introduces Lesbian Lifestyle On Children's Show
"When Amy told Bob that Taylor’s parents would also be joining them while the girls played, the two began debating Taylor’s mother’s name. Both said they had individually met the woman, but while Amy said her name was Susan, Bob remembered meeting a parent named Cheryl.
Since they weren’t together at the time of the interactions, the two remained at odds. When the doorbell finally rang and Taylor arrived with her mothers, Charlie’s parents realized that they were both right: Susan and Bob were, indeed, speaking about two separate women.
'Taylor has two moms,' Bob said after answering the door.

14. Virginia Attorney General Abandons Natural Marriage
"Virginia’s new Attorney General, Mark R. Herring, after only two weeks in office, announced today that he will not only abandon the defense of the Commonwealth’s marriage amendment, but he will also file a brief against it. The Virginia marriage amendment was passed by a vote of 57 percent of Virginians in 2006. It affirms marriage as the union of one man and one woman." - LibertyCounsel
"Like President Obama and Eric Holder, the Virginia Attorney General says his view on same-sex marriage has evolved. While state senator in 2006, Herring voted for the marriage amendment.
'Marriage predates government and civil authorities. Virginia’s marriage amendment did not create marriage. It simply affirmed marriage as the union of one man and one woman,” said Mat Staver, Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel. 'Marriage was not created by religion or government and is ontologically a union of one man and one woman. For any court or civil authority to think it has the authority to redefine marriage is the height of hubris. Deconstructing marriage will hurt children and society,' Staver said." . . . Read More

15. MSNBC's Wagner Brings On Lizz Winstead And Sarah Silverman To Trash Apparently Sex-Hating Pro-Lifers
"MSNBC's furor over Mike Huckabee's remarks on women and the Democrats boiled over on 'Now with Alex Wagner' on Thursday afternoon. Radical feminist 'comedians' Sarah Silverman and Lizz Winstead were promoted once again for their 'V to Shining V' crusade for 'Lady Parts Justice' -- that is, untrammeled abortion, the full Gosnell." - NewsBusters
“'It’s so bizarre,' Silverman said about Huckabee's remarks, smelling careerism and insincerity. 'When a politician is speaking on behalf of those people who are pulling their strings, for their purse and for their, um, the betterment of their career, it’s gross. I’m just an actress and when I speak out politically it does not help my career at all.' Silverman babbled and rambled about how sperm can smell, leaving Lizz Winstead to look like the articulate side of the Left.
'We have to stop feeding into this narrative that it’s somehow awful to be a sexual being, to enjoy your sexuality, to want to be responsible with your sexuality,' said Winstead, constructing the usual MSNBC straw man.
Winstead got personal: 'You know what. I actually enjoy sex; and I like to protect myself so I don’t get pregnant, because I have looked inside myself after many years on Earth and said ‘You know what? I’d be an awful mother.’ And so to prevent that from happening to the world around us, I think I’ll use birth control.'
Winstead is now liberated and 52." . . . Read More
16. Hollywood’s Muslim Lies
"In real life, terrorists are almost always Muslim. In the movie theater, they are anything but. America’s fictional secret agents, covert operatives and rogue cops who play by their own rules have spent more time battling Serbian terrorists than Muslim terrorists. " - FrontPageMagazine
"The United States has remained unscathed by Serbian terrorism, though the same can’t be said for Peter Weller, the star of Diplomatic Siege, and Mimi Leder, the director of The Peacemaker, but not by Muslim terrorist attacks. Despite September 11, the Fort Hood Massacre and the Boston Marathon bombings, Hollywood has resolutely kept its eye on the real threat.
Serbian terrorism!
This weekend, Ride Along, which features Ice 'F___ the Police' Cube playing a cop, knocked Lone Survivor out of the top spot at the box office, and once again takes on the terrible threat of… Serbian terrorism.
When the Serbs aren’t available, the Russians have to step in. The Russians are more likely to appear as villains after the fall of the Soviet Union than during the Communist era. It’s as if the end of Soviet Communism finally set Hollywood free to join in the fun of Boris and Natasha villains without any of the guilt about red-baiting." . . . Read More
17. Obama’s Developing Police State?
"Watch what people do, not what they say, especially when it comes to politicians with enormous egos. This president says he loves liberty. He says he upholds the Constitution and the rule of law, according to his oath. He says he understands the Constitution establishes and protects liberty." - ClashDaily
"But look at what the man does. He violates the Constitution routinely, destroying liberty with each violation.
"In a recent press conference he made excuses for NSA surveillance excesses, proposing meaningless reforms. Obviously, he could not care less about protecting our constitutional right to be free from illegal government search and surveillance.
He uses the IRS to target conservatives to stifle their right to free speech and assembly. For years Tea Party conservatives have complained they have been denied tax exempt status to operate. The IRS admitted they targeted the Tea Party and other conservatives. IRS officials have testified the White House was involved. Yet recently, the FBI tells us there is nothing to investigate. Just yesterday, it was reported the IRS is now targeting conservatives in Hollywood.
Journalists have been targeted, spied upon, their privacy invaded, and their jobs threatened. White House officials have harassed reporters and editors and producers. Even CNN was threatened for covering Benghazi, as was Fox News. AP reporters’ records were taken and examined by DOJ. The Obama police state emerges. It gets worse. Much worse." . . . Read More

“And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” Revelation 13:16,17
"How it works: The small strip converts the constant movement of organs such as the heart, lungs and diaphragm into energy. The tiny piezoelectric power plants are comprised of lead zirconate titanate nanoribbons, housed in biocompatible plastic. There’s also an integrated rectifier that converts the electric signal and a tiny rechargeable battery, all encased in the same plastic. To produce more power, multiple units could be placed on an organ, the team believe.
‘Heart rate monitors, pacemakers, cardioverter-defibrillators, and neural stimulators constitute broad classes of electronic implants that rely on battery power for operation,’ the team wrote" . . . Read More
