The Dam

An elderly man in Queensland had owned a large property for several decades. He had a dam in the next paddock that was fixed up nice with several picnic tables, a horseshoe court near some shade trees, and a few mango and avocado trees that were now briming with fruit.  The dam was nicely shaped and the lake behind it fixed up for swimming in the warm sun.

One evening the old farmer decided to go down to his dam, as he hadn't been there for a few days to pick the fruit before it rotted on the branch.  He grabbed a five-gallon bucket and went on his merry way down to his dam.

As he neared the dam, he heard women's voices shouting, laughing with glee. As he came closer he saw it was a bunch of young ladies skinny-dipping in his lake. He respectfully made the women aware of his presence. But instead of getting out, they laughed at him and swam to the deeper end of the lake.

One of the women then shouted to him in a tease,

"We're not coming out until you leave, old man!"

The old man thought for a second and then smiled. Looking up he said to them,

"I didn't come down here to watch you ladies swim naked or make you get out of my lake without your clothes on.”

Another one of the women shouted back at him,

"So why did you come down here old man, if it wasn't to see us naked?"

Holding up the bucket for all of them to see, he voiced raised as he said,

"I'm just came down here to feed the crocodiles."

Moral: Old men might walk slow but they still can think fast on their feet.
