What is your object? Vogue 78 color-picture record

What is the name of the Manufacturing Company? Vogue Picture Record.

What are the dimensions? 10"

What is the medium? 78 record

Describe any markings or signatures.

Common markings include: Vogue Picture Record, Wirts, A Tom Saffady Product, Reg. U.S. Pat Off., Licensed for non-commercial use on home phonopgraphs only. P92, Copyright Sav-Way Industries, Detroit, 13, Michigan - Pat. Pending, R754.

Side one: "She's Funny That Way," Richard A.Whiting - Neil Moret, The Charlie Shavers Quintet, Vocal by Charlie Shavers (pix of artist - see photo.)

Side two: "Dizzy's Dilemma," The Charlie Shavers Quintet, Trumpet - Charlie Shavers, Clarinet - Buddie DeFranco, Drums - Alvin Stoller, Piano - John Potaker, Bass - Stoney Block.

Describe the object's condition. Record is not chipped, and the label is embedded in the flattened bisquit as a full color picture and showing a different photo on each side. The condition of the cut looks good, with a blemish in the plastic itself on one side where the needle may jump, but track itself looks intact.

What is the provenance? It was given to me by my mother and father along with many other records including popular 78 recordings from dance band songs from WWII era.

Has the subject of your inquiry ever been exhibited or appeared in any publication? No.

Comments:

There is also a second picture record in my collection by the same artist with the titles, "Serenade to a Pair of Nylons," and "Broadjump." I also have a 78 Swedish record with the brand name Sonora, #3035, sides numbered 1070 S and 1069 S.
