Sadly, a Democracy is no better than the intelligence of its voters, and in America these days that's not saying much.
The following passed on to me is in three parts. It speaks to the Democrat complaint of the cost of the war in protecting our energy resources in the Middle East while ignoring the cost of illegal aliens living in the United States, a core in the Democrat voting block and why they support them and the cost related to their staying. It's called accessing power.
So which is more important to Democrats today? Their country or their party? You decide in three easy pieces.
PART 1
Remember the election in 2006? Before the new Congress took office::
1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
3) The unemployment rate was 4.5%.
Since Americans voted the Democrats into office in 2006 to control Congress, we now instead have seen:
1) Consumer confidence plummet;
2) The cost of regular gasoline soar to over $3.50 a gallon;
3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);
4) American households have seen $2.3 trillion in equity value evaporate (stock and mutual fund losses);
5) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $1.2 trillion dollars;
6) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.
America in 2008 is supposed to vote again for change, according to the DNC Party platform. Well in 2006, they had also voted for change and look what they delivered onto the American people's dining room table! Now their candidate have more in store for Americans:
"My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world. I hope you'll join with me as we try to change it."

The Democrat candidate for 2008 will return the people to the higher tax rates of the Clinton years as shown above, or even higher if they kick in a faux global warming taxes.
It is therefore amazing how many Americans who fall into the categories above think Bush is harming the economy while Bill Clinton was not, their calling him the greatest President ever.
If Obama is elected, he will repeal the Bush tax cuts and return us to the days of high taxes under Clinton. And amazingly a good portion of the people who fall into the above categories can't wait for him to stick his hands into their wallets, ones that are already growing empty from high energy costs. My oh, my, so much for the benefits of an intelligent population.
PART 3
So you think the war in Iraq is costing us too much via the reports from the drive-by media and the spin of the DNC? Consider the following backed by the Democrat Party:
They have been hammering propaganda to the American people that it's the "Iraq War" and the "War on Terror" that is bankrupting America. But the following 14 reasons show an entirely different story as to what is costing Americans to lose the dollars off their dining room table.
Here are some interesting statistics that should raise the hair on the back of your neck. Verification is shown where available on the Web, with every effort made to find more sources:
1. $11 billion to $22 billion is spent on welfare to illegal aliens each year by state governments.
2. $2.2 billion dollars a year is spent on food assistance programs such as food stamps, WIC, and free school lunches for illegal aliens.
3. $2.5 billion dollars a year is spent on Medicaid for illegal aliens.
4. $12 billion dollars a year is spent on primary and secondary school education for children here illegally and they cannot speak a word of English!
5. $17 billion dollars a year is spent for education for the American-born children of illegal aliens, known as anchor babies.
6. $3 Million dollars a DAY is spent to incarcerate illegal aliens.
7. 30% percent of all Federal Prison inmates are illegal aliens.
8. $90 billion dollars a year is spent on illegal aliens for Welfare & social services by the American taxpayers.
9. $200 billion dollars a year in suppressed American wages are caused by illegal aliens.
10. The illegal aliens in the United States have a crime rate that's two and a half times that of white non-illegal aliens. In particular, their children, are going to make a huge additional crime problem in the U.S.
11. During the year of 2005 there were 4 to 10 million illegal aliens that crossed our Southern Border. Also, as many as 19,500 illegal aliens came from Terrorist Countries. Millions of pounds of drugs, cocaine, meth, heroin and marijuana, crossed into the U. S.from the southern border.
12. The National Policy Institute, "estimated that the total cost of mass deportation would be between $206 and $230 billion or an average cost of between $41 and $46 billion annually over a five year period."
13. In 2006 illegal aliens sent $45 billion in remittances back to their countries of origin.

The total cost of illegal immigrants is therefore a whopping $338.3 billion dollars a year. But to Democrats supporting their core constituents, that's price is acceptable collateral damages for Americans to pay.
But you should not be surprised. As Democrats move into the mountains of Western North Carolina, they bitch about the economy, global warming, and not being green enough while they build 3,000 square foot retirement homes on the side of the mountains looking down on everyone else.
So next time you see those bobbing heads inside those politically-correct, colored lunch-box non-aerodynamic cars, remember they're not doing it for you or for the environment. According to a recent study on Glenn Beck's show of people who buy these cars, they are doing it because . . . gee, it makes them look good.
And I guess you could say that's the bottom line and the depth of America's great and wonderful Democrat Party.
